Inserted into the lofty exhibition space created in the sixties—extending across two floors, it is ca. 5.5 m (ca. 18 ft) tall, with a Gothic church window in its south wall—is a wall of eight paintings on wood panels each measuring 200 by 130 cm (79 by 51 in) that obstructs the lower three quarters of the church window. A wall painting is executed in the open stairwell, which permits vantages of the facing picture-wall from various elevations—an orange coat of paint on which the graphical illusion of a gestural brushstroke is superimposed. This wall painting also serves as the surface on which a series of drawings is hung that quote graphical and figurative elements from the world of GEISTERBAHN.
